Air bed

Advances made in quality beds having air mattresses as support bases have resulted in vastly increased popularity and sales of such air beds. An air bed, which can be carried and easily stored, and which can be very comfortable and enjoyed by a user, is becoming more and more popular.  Air supported mattresses are used with cots and beds to provide yieldable body supports. Air beds are advantageous in that they typically have an electronic control panel which allows a user to select a desired inflation setting for optimal comfort and change the inflation setting at anytime, thereby providing changes in the firmness of the bed, resulting in different sensations. This kind of air bed not only may be used as a spare bed for a visitor or a friend, but it also may be used for camping. This feature alone makes them slightly more complicated than standard spring mattresses which are relatively static. The air mattresses can be inflated with hand operated pumps or bag pumps. Motor driven blowers and pumps have also been used more effectively to supply air under pressure to air mattresses. Air mattresses have been provided with an inflation system that usually includes a pump, sometimes an accumulator tank, a system of valves and a control, usually electric, that controls the inflation and deflation of the zones of the mattress and maintains the pressures within them according to some criteria.
