Bathroom fixture

A bathroom is typically provided over the sink with a mirror over which in turn is provided a lamp and under which are provided several fixtures such as a toothbrush holder, a soap stand, a glass holder, and the like. One basic fixture design is often referred to in the industry as vanity bar. This fixture design consists of an extended bar having, typically, three to six individual lights projecting from the front. The bar can be placed over a mirror to provide lighting to those standing in front of the mirror. Lighting fixtures for use in bathrooms and vanities, are available in a number of designs. One of the overall goals of any such design is to provide illumination such that a person is able to get a relatively clear look at their face, hair, and other body parts. It is well known to make a lighting fixture which has a housing and as its front decorative surface, a mirror. Such housing may be mounted to a wall surface, or recessed in a suitable opening in the wall. A wide variety of fixture designs have been used in an attempt to provide appropriate lighting. Lights associated with bathroom cabinets normally have integral fixtures arranged on the side walls of the cabinet. Others have fluorescent fixtures integrally arranged on the top wall of the cabinet and in both cases, the fixtures are usually provided with light deflectors. Nightlights are sometimes used in bedrooms or bathrooms to faintly illuminate the rooms at night. Often such lights are not built into a house, however, because of the limited space for light fixtures, and are instead provided by plugging a lamp into a power outlet. Some types of fixture have a plurality of electric light bulbs that are spaced a relatively close distance. The glass mirror has a number of holes. Sockets are attached to a front housing plate and bulbs in the sockets project through the mirror openings. Electrical wires within the building walls are run through an opening in a rear mounting plate for the housing and then fan out to be attached to each individual socket. Many bathroom ceramic soap dish fixtures are equipped with a generally U-shaped handle-washcloth support which is located at the upper region of the ceramic soap dish recess. This support serves as a convenient hand-hold, or as a convenient structure from which a washcloth is hung.
