Nightstand
A nightstand or a bedside table is a small table or cabinet designed to stand beside a bed or elsewhere in a bedroom, as a place to put anything likely to be required during the night. At home or other permanent facility, storage of articles within easy reach of a sleeping bed is an important aspect of daily life many people take for granted. It is frequently desired to store certain items close to a bedside. For obvious reasons, most people prefer to have ready access to articles such as eyeglasses, flashlights, wallets, beverages, medicines, books, magazines, clocks, lights, radios, jewelry, mobile phones, keys, pagers, small personal defense weapons, and a variety of other articles while in bed. Articles of furniture such as nightstands or storage bed headboards usually provide bedside storage of such articles in the home or other permanent facility. Nightstands or shelves are commonly used for storing bedside items; however, they do not always provide an adequate or convenient storage system. Bedside tables or nightstands are typically placed on the side of a bed. They provide storage for various items that may be used while in bed. Such items may include eyeglasses, TV remote controls, books, cell phones, water bottles, and flashlights.
