Living room furniture
A living room, also known as sitting room, lounge room or lounge, is a room for entertaining guests, reading, watching TV or other activities. Many homes have multiple seating units, such as chairs and sofas, residing and arranged in a living room. Chairs generally include a seat portion and a back portion which are formed separately from the part intended to engage the ground. The set portion and back portion are, in most cases, fixed together in a rigid manner so that they extend generally at right angles to one another. Chairs for use in the living rooms of homes have been made in accordance with many different designs to provide sitting comfort and safety as well as attractive designs to suit the decor of the location at which the chairs are to be placed. Standard recliner clairs generally comprise a fixed frame, a body support including a seat and seat back, a body support linkage assembly connecting the body support to the fixed frame and a leg rest assembly. Benches are well known in the art and it is known to construct benches with a variety of different configurations. For example, benches may include one or more arms or armrests. Sectional sofas enable the user to place multiple sections of a sofa (typically lacking one or both arms) side-by-side to create multiple seating locations. The consumer may purchase different numbers of sections in order to create a desired sofa configuration in a living room, and the sections can be rearranged by the seller or the consumer to create more sofa configurations. Sleeper sofas commonly include a folding mattress frame and a mattress which is supported by the frame. When the sleeper sofa is used as a bed, the mattress frame extends horizontally outwardly from the sofa frame, and the mattress is supported on top of the mattress frame. A cushion can be used to support the back of the human body when a person sits on a sofa, chair, or the like. The cushion comprises a soft bag of cloth, leather or rubber, filled with cotton, feathers, air, foam rubber, etc. The cushion serves as living necessaries which help to relieve fatigue of the human body while the person sits on the sofa, chair, or the like, for a lengthy period of time. Mattresses and futons have long been held together by means of tufts. The tuft also serves to stabilize the outer layers of materials, tickings and fillings. With the trend toward increased use of the living room as a recreational, entertainment and dining space, many consumers desire living room furniture pieces that provide function or flexibility beyond the conventional seating and support provided by conventional furniture.
