Chairs
The use of chairs is closely related to the daily lives of the general. A chair provides proper support to a human body, it is an essential appliance in daily living. Chairs for use in the living rooms of homes have been made in accordance with many different designs to provide sitting comfort and safety as well as attractive designs to suit the decor of the location at which the chairs are to be placed. Chairs are typically designed ergonomically to meet the needs of a user's comfort. The requirements for the design of chairs are becoming increasingly stringent with regard to the correct adjustment of the chair. Collapsible chairs are designed with the twin goals of comfort and ease of storage. They are generally collapsed for storage when not in use, so the smaller and more compact the chair can be in its collapsed state, the better it is generally perceived to be by the user. Folding chairs have been known for many years. Their distinguishing feature is that the chair can be manipulated between a folded disposition in which the back is pivoted to approximate the seat, and an open disposition in which the back is disposed more or less perpendicular to the seat. Portable collapsing rocking chairs of the type which have a flexible rectangular seat supported at opposite ends by oppositely inclined, diagonally disposed frames interconnected by a pair of upper and lower chains are well known. Reclining chairs are typically provided with a separate linkage mechanism for permitting the seated occupant to selectively actuate an extensible leg rest assembly and/or produce reclining angular movement of a seat assembly between upright and reclined positions. Rocking chairs are chairs which are designed so as to allow the person sitting in them to gently rock or sway to and fro under their own power. Most people find such chairs comfortable to sit and their movement very relaxing. Rocking chairs have been in existence for quite a number of years, and remain quite popular. Reclining chairs which rock in the upright position typically include a seat, arms, a back, and a curved rocker surface, which rocks on a base. Springs are used to restrain the movement of the rocker and to hold it in a fixed position when no one is sitting in it. Chairs are often used to support a person for massage. Massage therapy has become increasingly popular in recent years. Massage chairs provide massage treatment on-site at homes.
