Living room sofa
A sofa is an upholstered item of furniture for the comfortable seating and typically has an armrest on either side. A sofa is usually positioned in a living room of a house for a family member to rest in a comfortable and convenient manner. The sofa comprises a seat part on which the user sits, a back part on which the user leans against, arm parts, a frame and leg parts. The sofa frame is made of wood mostly, and also steel, plastic, and laminated boards or a combination of the above. Convertible sofa beds are popular with consumers because of their multifunctionality. Many consumers find it very convenient to have a sofa that can provide a bed for a guest, as such a sofa can eliminate the need for an additional, separate bed. People often lie across a sofa with their head resting on a standard armrest of the sofa and their bodies stretched lengthwise across the sofa, from armrest to armrest. A sleeper sofa basically includes a sofa frame and a foldable bed frame that supports a mattress. The sleeper sofa is adapted for use as a sofa when the bed frame is retracted into a storage attitude within the sofa frame to permit use of the structure as a seating surface. The sofa sleeper also can be used as a bed when the bed frame is extended from the storage attitude into a generally horizontal bed attitude to permit use of the structure as a sleeping surface. Lying this way is for comfort and at other times, is for viewing TV or conversing with someone located generally seated near an opposite armrest of the sofa so that both people are seated likewise on the sofa facing each other. Sofas, couches, or chaise lounges, as they are sometimes called, conventionally include a seating area which is generally surrounded on three sides by a backrest and a pair of opposite arm rests. The seating area is typically provided with seat cushions.
