Laptop cart
Storage carts are used to store items inside of the carts. Some of the carts have legs and some of the carts have wheels to provide for ease of transport of the cart from location to location. Some storage carts are used to store computers such as, for example, laptop and notebook computers. The use of utility carts for supporting various office supplies, such as computer equipment, electronic equipment such as overhead projectors for preparing and presenting presentations, and filing cabinets for file folders and the like are well known. Portable computers, including so-called laptop computers, are being increasingly used in schools and businesses. Such portable computers have the advantage of being small and relatively light in weight and being capable of operation by battery power while still having sufficient processing and storage capability to operate as a fully functional computer. Laptop carts are readily transportable, such as being supported by casters, in order to easily move the carts from location to location and room to room thereby enhancing their versatility. Generally the carts come in various sizes for accommodating these different types of equipment and office supplies. As a general rule these carts are of different overall designs in order to accommodate these various needs. When not in use, the computers are generally required to be stored in a secure manner to prevent them from being stolen or tampered with. Accordingly, it is common to store the computers in a lockable cart that will deter the students and other people from accessing the computers without permission. When used as a means for hanging file folders for example, wherein the cart is typically a rectangular four sided apparatus, one or more sides of the cart are left open for access to the files or equipment stored on a lower shelf thereof. In an alternative arrangement a hinged door is provided on one or more sides of the utility cart for gaining access to the interior. Found on some of the computer storage carts used to store laptop or notebook computers is a source of power located within or near the cart in order to provide for the computer's batteries to be recharged while the computers are stored within the cart. Where the computers include a battery, the computer cart may include electrical strips that will enable the computers to be charged while being stored in the computer cart. Since charging the computers generates heat, it is generally necessary to ventilate the computers within the cart to prevent them from overheating.
