Porch swing

A variety of rockers have been contemplated in the art, enabling oscillating movement of baby carriages, swings, hammocks and the like. These devices include for example, electrical motor driven devices and energy storage devices having spring wound drivers. Simple swings have been used for many years and are particularly enjoyed by children of all ages. Bench-type swings are mounted on porches, where the users are shielded from sun and other weather elements. Particularly in the summertime, or in warm climates, people sit on bench-type swings that are present on porches in order to enjoy the outdoors. A porch swing exposes the occupants to breezes that blow across the porch. More complicated swings having more than the conventional two suspension lines have also been used by adults as, for example, the traditional "porch swing". The relaxation afforded by sitting and swinging on a porch swing is unsurpassed as one of life's great pleasures. Porch swings are a fixture of leisurely living. Many people find the slow, gentle swinging action of a porch swing to be very soothing. As a general rule, porch swings are commercially available are furnished with a pair of ordinary chains for suspending the swing from the porch ceiling. The chains are inextensible and hence do not provide any bounce or springiness to the suspension of the swing.
